Luck, bad refs and the Mourinho effect

Posted by ballabettor On July - 8 - 2010

And the Cup is about to be over. Never since I’ve been following it (can’t really remember 86 only that everyone was sad with Brasil going out), it has ended in such a mediocre manner. No matter what will be Sunday’s outcome.

Neither of the teams in this final was supposed to be a top four team. They actually didn’t play well enough to be considered that. But anyway, here they are and we will just have to live with it.

Inter best bet of the season – Diego Milito.

Posted by ballabettor On May - 26 - 2010

When Adriano left Inter and Inter got Milito to be his substitute in the attack, a lot of people wouldn’t imagine the impact of this player in the Club’s season.

Inter took down three titles, with some of the greatest counter-attack football ever seen. Mourinho set the trap with Motta and Cambiasso guarding the midfield and ready to start the fatal counter-attacks. Both with great pass skills, had the option of Sneijder to create the play and the ball was stolen in their defense field, Pandev and Eto’o in the attacking sides, always ready to supply the man who should finalize the play.

Champions League 2010 Final is here!

Posted by ballabettor On May - 21 - 2010

This same time tomorrow I’ll be waiting anxiously for the beginning of the match. It will be broadcasted live from Madrid and it starts at 20:45. What a great match it can be! I don’t dare to state that it WILL be a great match, since finals tend to be really not well played games, like last year’s one.

Now, Inter Milan will face the Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich, which showed great form this season. Both clubs got the Doubles in their respective countries and both have stellar lineups.

Mourinho knows all.

Despite the fact that I love Barcelona’s style of play and even more Pep Guardiola for his ability to bring this ball possession tactics into Barça’s game, it is impossible to deny how well Mourinho’s guys played the strategic game yesterday.

If you don’t consider a couple, maybe three balls that Xavi was allowed to pass through the defense (usually that happens+10x a match) and um kick from Messi, Inter was flawless. From the keeper to the most offensive attacker. It was another almost perfect game. Inter played without the ball, they let Barcelona keep possession, but they held them from the midfield, with only Eto’o or Milito loose, never both. By the way, both were showing incredible tactics discipline by coming sometimes close to the defense box to close the wall.
