Yesterday night (CET Time) the online poker world was shaken by the announcement that founders of the three biggest American poker sites were indicted. PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, AbsolutePoker and Ub.com were all seized by FBI and have “lost” their domains to the Bureau.

At this very moment, what most people are failing to realize (mainly because of how the affected sites and people related to them are reacting to it) is that this is a measure against illegal actions taken by these companies in order to run their business and not a direct attempt of blocking the game of poker itself, even though that is the final immediate consequence.

Champions League 2010 Final is here!

Posted by ballabettor On May - 21 - 2010

This same time tomorrow I’ll be waiting anxiously for the beginning of the match. It will be broadcasted live from Madrid and it starts at 20:45. What a great match it can be! I don’t dare to state that it WILL be a great match, since finals tend to be really not well played games, like last year’s one.

Now, Inter Milan will face the Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich, which showed great form this season. Both clubs got the Doubles in their respective countries and both have stellar lineups.

Italian betting experiment – Part two

Posted by ballabettor On April - 10 - 2010

Today I followed my theory to bet on under 2.5 goals on all Italian Serie B matches. Once again, the bet was on all doubles and it worked quite well. Below, the table of bets:

Type Bet Outcome
15 x doubles Ancona  v Crotone <2.5 @1.75
s Cittadella v AC Ascoli <2.5 @1.60
s Grosseto v Vicenza <2.5 @1.75
s Mantova v Piacenza <2.5 @1.65
s Reggina v Empoli <2.5 @1.65
s Triestina v Brescia <2.5 @1.60

A great night it was last Wednesday. Manchester United playing home opened a 3-0 advantage which seemed like an impossible job for the Germans to pass, but they showed heart and scored the two needed goals to go to next phase. Olic’s goal in the last minute of first half was decisive to Van Gaal’s side to return from the locker room confident enough to reach the objetive. It was a great football played by both sides.

Meanwhile in France, Lyon playing with a 3-1 advantage from first leg on their back, were brave and even quite lucky when they held the current France champions from Bordeaux. The goal scored in the end of first half served to put some wood in the fire and made Bordeaux even more keen to keep the pressure on. Looked like a one side match, since Bordeaux played almost the whole game inside Lyon’s field, but they were stopped by the good goalkeeper from Lyon, Hugo Lloris. It’s said that Juventus is spotting this young man as a replacement for Gigi Buffon. He can’t be that bad, can he? ;)

Everest Poker is evil.

Posted by ballabettor On March - 31 - 2010

And for the first time in my life I went broke in my life when playing poker. I must be fair that I haven’t been playing much lately and that might have affected my shape as a player, but I never ran so bad as well. Over a small 15K hands sample, I managed to run up to 25 buy-ins under EV, ending 15 buy-ins down when I went broke.

Add to that a fairly high amount of tilt generated by monster bad beats all the time and my before mentioned bad shape and you will have a very big losing player. While I played there, I tried to lower the limits, went 2 limits down and it seemed impossible to beat the game anyway.
